Register as Reviewer

Thank you for your interest in registering as a Reviewer for the South African Journal of Science. Reviewers play an essential role in ensuring the publication of high-quality content and we appreciate their contributions.

Reviewers are invited for their scholarly expertise on the topic of the manuscript. Typically, such expertise would be demonstrated by a PhD.

By registering as a Reviewer, you will be included in our reviewer database and be discoverable by our Associate Editors who select Reviewers at their discretion. Although we are a multidisciplinary journal, it might be that we do not often receive manuscripts in certain fields. Registering as a Reviewer therefore does not guarantee that you will receive an invitation to review.

How to register:

1) Register as a user: https://sajs.co.za/user/register

2) Complete the required registration fields

3) Select the box ‘Yes, I would like to be contacted with requests to review…’

4) Provide your ‘Reviewing interests’ (provide 5-10 keywords and be as specific as you can to ensure your profile will be discoverable and well matched with a manuscript for review)

5) Click on Register

 

Registered users

1) Login to your dashboard: https://sajs.co.za/login

2) Enter your username and password

3) Click on your Profile settings (located in the top right corner of your screen), and click on Edit profile

4) Click on the Roles tab

5) Select the Reviewer role

6) Type in your Reviewing interests (provide 5-10 keywords and be as specific as you can to ensure your profile will be discoverable and well matched with a manuscript for review)

7) Click on Save
