A brown hyena (Parahyaena brunnea). Brown hyenas are found in Angola, Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and Zimbabwe, withalmost one-third of the global population occurring in Namibia. Ramello and colleagues describe the spatio-temporal behaviour of the brown hyena in the Fish River Canyon, Namibia.
