Journals which do not appear in the above mentioned international indices but whose seat of publication is in South Africa and which meet specific criteria, can be included in this list.

In conclusion:  The South African Journal of Science meets the criteria (see Science Citation Index, ISI) of the DoHET. It is therefore accredited and approved by the DoHET for its inclusion in the subsidy system for being a research publication output for South Africa.
